Last week marked an exciting milestone with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Highway Welcome Center located on Highway 231! This vibrant Welcome Center will serve as a key gateway for travelers entering the Sunshine State. More than 80 million visitors arrive by car annually.
Florida’s Welcome Centers play a vital role in shaping the visitor experience by providing a warm introduction to all the state has to offer. From offering maps and free citrus juice, to highlighting attractions and businesses, these centers kick off a memorable Florida vacation the moment visitors cross the state line.
What makes this Welcome Center even more special is that it is the only rural Welcome Center in the entire state of Florida. It stands as a proud symbol of hospitality in Northwest Florida, offering travelers not only a friendly rest stop but also a taste of the region’s charm and character. Thank you to our incredible Partners in Northwest Florida for your continued support and for joining us in celebrating this grand opening.
At the Gadsden County Tourist Development Council, we’re proud to be part of the story that starts here — where first impressions matter. As the only rural Welcome Center in the state, it’s not just a rest stop; it’s a reflection of everything that makes Northwest Florida — and Gadsden County — worth the journey.
