Presented by the Gadsden County Tourist Development Council & the Black History Committee of Gadsden County
Registration: All participants must register at the Gadsden County Courthouse, 10 E. Jefferson Street, Quincy, FL 32351, before beginning the Treasure Hunt. Registration starts at 9 a.m.
Treasure Hunt Sites: There will be 10–12 Treasure Hunt sites. Each site will be staffed by an official coordinator who will sign participants’ cards once activities are completed.
Check-In at Sites: Participants must sign in at each Treasure Hunt site they visit.
Participant Materials: At registration, each participant will receive:

Official Wristband
Participant Card
Order of Sites: Participants may visit the designated churches or sites in any order, either by driving or walking.
Coins and Clues:
At each site, there will be one hidden gold, silver, and bronze coin that will be retrieved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each site will also feature a riddle or historical fact card.
Only one coin per site may be claimed per participant.
Verification: To claim a coin, participants must show it to the site coordinator and print and sign their name on the site sheet. Participants who arrive at a site where the gold, silver, and bronze coins have been retrieved will be informed by the site coordinator that the treasures have already been found.
Completion Deadline: All participants must report to the Historic Wilson House, 319 South 10th Street, Quincy, FL 32351, by 2:00 p.m.
Electronic Devices: Before starting the Treasure Hunt activity at each site, all participants must place electronic devices in the designated basket. Devices will be returned at sign-out or upon completing the hunt.
Safety: Participants must follow all safety measures during the Treasure Hunt.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded based on the number of winners. Winners will be announced Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at 5 p.m. via text or email.
Disqualification: Any participant caught cheating will be disqualified.

ABOUT THE BLACK HISTORY COMMITTEE OF GADSDEN COUNTY
The Black History Committee of Gadsden County, Inc. is a civic organization devoted to preserving and commemorating African-American history within the county. Through events such as gospel festivals, cultural strolls, and collaborations with county leadership, the committee fosters awareness of local Black heritage.
Located in a county with a majority African-American population and a rich legacy of leadership—from Reconstruction-era legislators to pioneering judges—the committee helps connect communities to their past, celebrate cultural achievements, and ensure that Black history remains a visible and celebrated part of civic life.
