LOCATION SPECIALS

Rising four stories above Quincy’s historic King Street, the McFarlin House Bed and Breakfast is one of Gadsden County’s most iconic landmarks — and arguably the finest historic inn in all of North Florida. This breathtaking Queen Anne-style mansion was built in 1895 for prominent Quincy merchant John Lee McFarlin, with soaring wraparound porches, intricate ornamental woodwork, turrets, and gabled rooflines that command admiration from every angle.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974, the McFarlin House reflects the extraordinary wealth that flowed into Quincy during the late 19th century — fueled by the booming shade-grown tobacco industry and by the prescient investments of local banker Mark “Pat” Munroe and his neighbors, who became among the earliest stockholders in the Atlanta soda company that would become Coca-Cola.

Today, innkeepers Richard and Tina welcome guests into nine individually decorated guest rooms — each uniquely themed with antiques, period furnishings, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and private baths. A hearty full breakfast is served each morning. Just 20 minutes from Tallahassee, the McFarlin House is the perfect base for exploring Quincy, Gadsden County, and the greater Tallahassee area.
