🎺 The streets of Quincy came alive as the Gadsden 🎺 The streets of Quincy came alive as the Gadsden County Black History Parade marched through downtown with pride, rhythm, and community spirit.

From community groups and local leaders to youth organizations and families lining the streets, every step honored the legacy and culture that continue to shape Gadsden County. The celebration reached another level with the powerful sounds of the FAMU Marching 100, whose presence brought energy, tradition, and unforgettable moments to the parade route.

Moments like these remind us that history isn’t just remembered here — it’s celebrated together in the streets.

Every fourth Saturday, something special happens i Every fourth Saturday, something special happens in the heart of downtown Havana. Vendors set up their stalls, the smell of fresh food drifts through the air, live music fills the streets, and shoppers from across Gadsden County come together for the Havana Market — now proudly in its sixth year.

More Than a Market
The Havana Market is organized by Havana Main Street, and its mission has always been bigger than just a shopping event. Jennifer Carter, Executive Director of Havana Main Street, says it’s one of the organization’s most powerful tools for local economic development.

Front porches. Live bands. Historic streets filled Front porches. Live bands. Historic streets filled with sound.

Mark your calendar for the 2026 Quincy Porchfest — Saturday, March 21 from noon to 6PM in Historic Downtown Quincy.

This 14th Annual Festival turns porches, storefronts, and the Courthouse lawn into stages for a full day of music. Whether you lean toward Americana, Blues, Funk, Soul, Rock, Country, Saltwater sounds, Pop Classics, Big Band Jazz, or even a Ukulele orchestra, there is something waiting for you on every corner.

New this year, American Idol standout Big Ron Wilson takes the stage on the Courthouse grounds, adding even more energy to an already packed lineup.

The full performance schedule is now live. Plan your route, bring your friends, and spend the afternoon walking downtown, discovering new artists, and supporting the heart of Quincy.

View the lineup and details here:

Music feels different when it echoes off historic brick and wraps around a front porch. That is Porchfest.

WEIGHT: Chronicling the Unbroken Some stories are WEIGHT: Chronicling the Unbroken

Some stories are carried. Some stories carry us.

WEIGHT: Chronicling the Unbroken is a generative exhibition exploring truth, resistance, power, justice, unity, freedom, and hope. It is an experience rooted in reflection and forward motion—examining the burdens borne, the battles fought, and the resilience that continues to define communities across generations.

Opening Spring 2026 at the Civil Rights Institute in the newly refurbished Havana Northside, this exhibition invites visitors to confront history with honesty and stand in the presence of strength that refuses to bend. Through layered narratives and powerful visual storytelling, WEIGHT honors those who endured and those who continue to build toward a more just future.

This is more than an exhibition. It is remembrance. It is reckoning. It is resolve.
