Founded in 2008 by experienced law enforcement officers JD Johnson and Charlie Strickland, Talon Range grew into one of North Florida’s most comprehensive shooting, training, and membership range facilities. Construction began in 2012 and the facility opened to the public in July 2013.

With over 2,500 members annually and more than one million rounds fired, Talon Range has established itself as a premier destination for responsible firearm enthusiasts, competitive shooters, and individuals seeking professional training in a safe, controlled environment. The range continues to evolve with enhanced training programs and a growing membership community drawn from Gadsden County and the greater Tallahassee region.

Talon Range also operates Talon Holsters, creating an integrated ecosystem for the responsible firearm community in North Florida, rooted in Gadsden County’s tradition of outdoor recreation and self-reliance.
