Established nearly 90 years ago and proudly holding the title of the oldest Lake Talquin fishing camp still welcoming guests today, Whippoorwill Sportsman’s Lodge is a Gadsden County treasure — a pilgrimage destination for generations of anglers, outdoor adventurers, and nature lovers. Located on the shores of legendary Lake Talquin, the Lodge delivers the authentic “Old Florida” fishing camp experience that is increasingly rare and infinitely precious.
The Lodge offers spacious lakefront and lake-view cottages with full kitchens, a five-bedroom lodge house for larger groups, private cabin wings, and full-hookup RV sites. The Whippoorwill Outpost is stocked with live bait, tackle, snacks, and local knowledge about where the fish are biting. Covered boat slips, a boat ramp, and the legendary Whip Waterfront Pub ‘n Grub round out a nearly century-old experience.
Lake Talquin is famous for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and striped bass. At Whippoorwill, the fish are always running, the sunsets are postcard-worthy, and the spirit of true Florida outdoor adventure is alive and well.
