Bwembya Market

LOCATION INFORMATION
LOCATION INFORMATION

Born from a vision of cultural connection and community celebration, Bwembya Market is one of Gadsden County’s most dynamic and soulful gathering places. What began as a mission to bring the vibrant art and culture of Zambia to the local community has grown into a multicultural arts marketplace and event hub showcasing local, regional, and international artists from across the African diaspora and beyond.

Located at 23 N Madison Street in downtown Quincy, Bwembya Market is more than a gallery or shop — it is a living cultural institution that centers creative voices and experiences of the Black community while welcoming all who are drawn to art, music, connection, and discovery. In its opening year the market hosted art exhibitions, live music events, weekly paint-and-sip nights, game nights, book readings, conversations, and film premieres.

Bwembya Market occupies a meaningful place in Quincy’s evolving creative renaissance and in the broader story of Gadsden County — Florida’s only majority-Black county — as a community with deep roots and a forward-looking creative spirit.
